OB. Amoah, Amin Adam Elevated, KT. Hammond, Bryan Join Cabinet

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has made a few changes to his government with Member of Parliament (MP) for Adansi Asokwa, Mr. Kobina Tahir Hammond picked to replace Alan Kyerematen at the Trade and Industry Ministry who recently resigned to pursue his presidential ambition.

MP for Abetifi Constituency Bryan Acheampong has also been appointed to head the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, replacing Dr. Owusu Afriyie-Akoto who also resigned in January to contest in the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential primaries.

Deputy Minister for Local Government, Decentralisation and Rural Development Mr. O. B. Amoah has been elevated to the position of Minister of State at the same Ministry whilst Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam has been promoted from Deputy Minister for Energy to Minister of state at the Ministry of Finance in place of dismissed Charles Adu Boahen.

Former Director-General of State Interests and Governance Authority (SIGA), Mr. Stephen Asamoah Boateng will now be the Minister for Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs following the resignation of Ebenezer Kojo Kum.

MP for Nhyiaeso constituency in the Ashanti Region and former CEO of Microfinance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC), Dr. Stephen Amoah has been nominated as a Deputy Minister for Trade and Industry.

Accordingly, Deputy Minister for Trade and Industry Herbert Krapa, has been moved to the Ministry of Energy as a Deputy Minister.

Speaker of Parliament Mr. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin who announced the changes in Parliament yesterday referred the new ministerial nominees to the Appointments Committee of the House for consideration and report.

President Akufo-Addo in submitting the names to Parliament, urged the Speaker to ensure the vetting of the nominees is expedited to enable them join government as soon as possible.
