Delegates of the New Patriotic Party in the Savelugu constituency in the northern region have begun voting to elect new executives to steer affairs of the party. The voting started after 12:00pm.

THE CUSTODIAN Northern Regional Correspondent, Mohammed Gadafi, reports that a total number of six hundred and sixty-seven (667) voters are expected to cast their ballots.
The delegate’s album is made up of polling station executives, electoral area coordinators, council of patrons, council of elders, and the17 incumbent constituency executives.
The Savelugu Municipal Officer of Electoral Commission, Mr. Todemeho Missinou, prior to the commencement of voting said the eligible voters will be called in batches to cast their ballots.
“Like your Deputy General Secretary has said, the register was compiled by you, so you know those who are in the register and those who are eligible to vote. So, any issue with the register will be directed to the elections committee for redress” he stated.
He added that, “one thing about elections is that, it is a secret ballot and therefore we’re not going to allow anybody to take photographs of the ballot.”
