The Municipal Chief Executive for Sagnarigu, Mr. Ahmed Yakubu Mohammed, has described the Sagnarigu 2024 presumptive Parliamentary Candidate of the New Patriotic Party, Madam Felicia Tetteh, as a character with unique characteristics.
He contends that the uniqueness of Mrs. Tetteh makes her appealing to floating voters and even members of the National Democratic Congress than their own Parliamentary Candidate, Mr. Atta Issah.
“Let me send this signal out there to the NDC that, we’re not coming out for a joke, we actually mean business.”
The Sagnarigu MCE noted the NPP is poised and determined to win about 44 ballot boxes in addition to what the party had in the 2020 general elections.
He said the NDC’s Parliamentary candidate who emerged victorious in their primaries and giving the party hope that he is bringing fresh ideas is unmatched to the NPP’s candidate.
“Let him know that we are not even dreaming about him. We know the pitch holes and loopholes and all the corners in Sagnarigu more than him. And if it is our candidate, our candidate is unique, she is appealing to the NDC and the neutral voters” he emphasized.
Mr. Ahmed made these remarks during the picking of nomination on behalf of Madam Felicia Tetteh last Thursday, July 13.
The MCE in the company of the Northern Regional Minister, Alhaji Shani Alhassan Shaibu, among other bigwigs of the NPP presented the required bankers’ draft to the constituency elections committee.
Meanwhile, Madam Felicia Tetteh in the 2020 polls had an unprecedented 26,434 votes representing 43.04 percent against 34,989 votes obtained by the NDC’s A.B.A Fuseini which was 56.96 percent. She also significantly increased the presidential votes to 17,153 for President Nana Akufo-Addo.
The outcome of the elections forced the opposition NDC to change the incumbent Member of Parliament, A.B.A Fuseini during the party’s May 13 primaries.
The party therefore will go into the 2024 general elections with a new Parliamentary candidate in the person of Atta Issah in an attempt to recover the votes lost in the previous polls.
