Municipal Chief Executive of Ga Central Municipal Assembly Mohammed Bashiru Kamara and the Presiding Member for the Ga Central Municipal Assembly, George Adu Darko jointly cut sod at Ablekuma Papaye for the construction of a bridge which would serve a dual purpose.
The bridge will serve a dual purpose where pedestrians and vehicles will use to get to the adjoining communities and the residents in the area were excited that the project will end the troubles of moving from area to another.
In a media interview, Mohammed Bashiru Kamara, said the assembly is concerned about the welfare of residents who have had to take a longer route to the main road from Agape Maame Nkran and its environs especially school children.
While touting the current government’s achievement, the MCE added that the project is an invention from government to help resolve a pertinent concern.
He said the Akufo-Addo – Bawumia-led government has been proactive when it comes to roads.
Mr. Bashiru cited the newly constructed bridge at Racecourse which has now brought relief to residents of Tabora, Racecourse and adjoining communities.
“The residents’ association have constantly been to my office to have this project done and I am happy that today we are here to witness the sod cutting for the project to begin”, he opined.
The MCE said, he is confident that the contractor will deliver and hand over the project before the six months estimated time of completion because he is reliable and has been adequately resourced.
He therefore assured residents living in other communities to exercise restrain as many more of such projects will be brought to their doorstep.
Chairman of the Ablekuma Residents Association, also thanked the assembly for the swift intervention. He said he has been to the MCE’s office for quite a number of times and today he is all smiles because the concerns of residents will soon be addressed.
The exercise was witnessed by the Municipal Chief Executive of Ga Central, Mr. Mohammed Bashiru Kamara; the Presiding member for Ga Central; Assembly member for the Ablekuma electoral area, Bernard Owusu Ansah, Chairman of the Ablekuma Residents’ Association, unit committee members, heads of department as well as members of the community.
