Kade branch of the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) has extended its services to its members and potential clients in its areas of operation to mark the Trust’s Mobile Service week programme.
The people of Adeiso and Asamankese were elated to see SSNIT in their vicinity and called on the Trust to organize more of such programmes aimed at sensitizing the public.
The SSNIT Mobile Service (SMS) week is an annual programme organised by SSNIT across the country.
Launching this year’s SMS week in Sunyani, the Director General of SSNIT Dr. John Ofori-Tenkorang said the SMS week is to create an avenue for SSNIT Branches to pitch camps at vantage locations in their area of operation.
This, according to him, is intended to bring SSNIT services closer to its members and prospective clients who hardly find time to visit their offices to transact business.
The week long programme, which was on the theme, ‘‘Choose Your Tomorrow, Sign Up For Seed From SSNIT”.
The 2023 SSNIT Mobile Service Week was aimed at sensitizing the self-employed on the need to join the scheme and what they stand to benefit as members.
The Kade Branch Manager, Madam Marian Adjei and her team from Kade visited the market women and men, tailors, barber, seamstresses, taxi and trotro drivers as well as Establishments in Asamankese and Adeiso.
The team during their interaction with the people emphasized on the need for them especially the self-employed to secure their future with SSNIT.
The formal sector workers were also not left out.
They were educated to check their statements at least twice a year and update their personal records such as contact number, beneficiary information, email, etc with SSNIT.
Among the services the Branch provided during the five days’ programme were statement printing, new member enrolment, member re-enrolment, employer registration, SSNIT and NIA merger, benefits processing initiation and benefit status verification, submission and validation of contribution reports.
To Climax the programme, Madam Marian Adjei encouraged the self-employed who are benefiting from the scheme to spread the good news to the self-employed who are undecided on some of the benefits they stand to gain such us old age pension, invalidity pension, survivors lump sum etc. to reduce old age dependency in Ghana.
