According to him, Mr. Zaruk does not discriminate between Konkombas or Nanumbas and therefore urged all electorates in the constituency to give their mandate to him to lead the constituency into the 2024 general elections.

For his part, Alhaji Ahmed Nuhu Zaruk said he was overwhelmed by the solidarity and love from the grassroot of the party.

“This is an internal contest, therefore there is no need for insults, there is no need for name callings, there is no need for intimidation, there is no need for any threat against anybody and there is no need for character assassinations” he advised.

He noted what is important is for peaceful polls to elect him as the next parliamentary candidate, adding, “We’re doing collectively and so I want to use this opportunity to thank you my brothers [Konkombas and Nanumbas] for demonstrating your love for me”.

The aspirant further called on the constituency elections committee, constituency executives, council of elders and patrons to remain impartial as arbiters and allow the process to be transparent, free and fair.

“Earlier on I had a meeting with all those who matter in the party – the constituency executives, the delegates and the council elders and patrons. I made my intentions very clear to them that I will be contesting and I have affirmed that today by picking the nomination forms.

“I have pleaded with them especially the constituency executives that we’re going into an election and I have urged them to be referees and a referee doesn’t wear the jersey of a particular team” he admonished.
