The chief of Voggu in the Kumbungu district in the northern region, Vo Naa Saaka Sule, has admonished the youth of Dagbon to embrace peace before, during and after the upcoming December 7, 2024, presidential and parliamentary elections.

“I want to caution everyone that voting is not about violence, neither is it about who is stronger than the other. It is all about your knowledge and an opportunity for us to elect those who can help us bring development to our community; that is the essence of voting” he stated.

Vo Naa Saaka made the admonishment during an interaction with a section of the youth and elders of Voggu captured on video sighted by THE CUSTODIAN Online.

The Vo Naa in his remarks also acknowledged some development interventions implemented in the community by the Akufo-Addo led New Patriotic Party government in the last five years since he became the traditional leader of the community.

“…We still have some developmental challenges but the current government has done well because since I became chief of this town [its five years now], I have witnessed some level of development coming here. I was not here during the erstwhile government so I cannot attest for what happened but what I see and can testify is that a lot of villages have been connected to the national electricity grid now and we can also make phone calls in our rooms without any difficulty compared to the past” he stated.

He further urged the people not to kowtow to the threats and antics of politicians but rather vote for their preferred candidates.

He also charged the subjects to report any form of threats emanating from any political grouping to the palace or the appropriate state authorities for the necessary actions.
