After an extensive appraisal of buildings at the Appiatse Reconstruction site on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, the Appiatse Reconstruction Implementation Team (ARIT) led by the Chairman of the Committee, Mr. Benito Owusu-Bio, Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources responsible for Lands and Forestry has urged Architectural and Engineering Services Limited (AESL), Consultants of the Appiatse project and Contractors on site to channel their focus and energies on external works.

He said, considering the level of progress on the buildings,more attention should be turned towards external works such as road construction, drains, lawns and rain outlets  as the Committee gears towards the formal handing over of the first phase of the project.

Mr. Owusu-Bio assured that the second and third phases of construction involving the renovation of the peripherals and row housing will not be neglected.

The Chairman insisted that AESL consultants must have a checklist to ensure a perfect completion of all other works before the project deadline.

A member of the ARIT Committee and Ghana Institute of Architects, Mr. Charles Blankson-Hermans outlined the mandates of the task force deployed on the project site which is to among others ensure the speedy completion of works.

He assigned the team to focus on the finishing road construction, electricity and water connections, as well as some building works and external works.

Dr. Isaac Dasmani, Municipal Chief Executive for Prestea Huni-Valley Municipal Assembly, promised the Committee to help in identifying the right owners for proper distribution of the housing units.
