The electoral fortunes ahead of the general election are seemingly getting narrower for the flagbearer of the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani.
This is manifested in recent surveys in some key and critical constituencies in the country where majority of the voters believe, flagbearer of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has solidified his electoral gains and garnered more popularity.
The voters interviewed by Outcomes International from 10th to 25th February, 2024, reposed more confidence in Dr. Bawumia in salvaging the economy when elected as compared to John Mahama.
The survey included 977 respondents from 10 key swing constituencies in Greater Accra, Central and Bono regions.
The key question of the survey, was “who will you vote for if elections were held today?”
From the survey report, whereas, former President Mahama wins in Ablekuma Central, Adentan, Ledzokuku and Awutu Senya West; Dr. Bawumia wins in La Dadekotopon, Cape Coast North, Twifo-Atti Morkwa, Dormaa West and Jaman North.
The overall performance of each of the leading candidates shows that Dr. Bawumia (43.5%) has an edge over Mr. Mahama (42.1%).
However, the poll shows that 6.9% of the respondents will vote for other candidates and 7.4% were undecided at the time of the polling.
