The 2024 New Patriotic Party Parliamentary candidate for the Savelugu constituency, Hajia Fatahiya Abdul Aziz, has engaged traditional leaders in the area as part a broad stakeholders meetings after winning her primary last year.
The Member of Parliament hopeful visited the Chiefs of Yilikpani, Yizegu, Tarikpaa, Langa, Moglaa, Bihinaa-Yili, Zaazi, Libiga, Nyoglo, Duko and Kanshegu. These communities all fall within the Moglaa zone of the constituency.
The NPP candidate explained that the purpose of her was to express her gratitude to the traditional authorities for their immense support and prayers during the party’s parliamentary primary and to seek their continued blessings and backing as she begins her 2024 campaign tour.
Accompanied by the Savelugu Municipal Chief Executive, Hajia Ayishetu Seidu, Constituency Chairman and his executives, Hajia Fatahiya seized the opportunity to highlight some achievements of the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia led New Patriotic Party government in the past seven years. She also mentioned some of her personal initiatives and interventions thus far as part of her efforts to mitigate the development gap in the constituency in order to improve on the socioeconomic livelihood of the people especially women, children and vulnerable groups.
Hajia Fatahiya further made a pledge to work assiduously to bring monumental development and transformation to the constituency when given the nod in this year’s general elections. She also admonished the traditional leaders and the constituents to vote massively for Dr Mahamudu Bawumia as the next President of the nation.
The Presidential staffer at the Office of the President intimated the future of the country is rest assured with the NPP’s Presidential candidate, adding Dr Bawumia will consolidate the significant gains made by the Akufo-Addo administration and build a resilient economy anchored digitalization to meet the demands of the fourth industrial revolution.
Meanwhile, the Savelugu municipality has witnessed some improvements in the supply of water for the people with the help of the NPP Member of Parliament hopeful. She has provided the municipality with a brand new water tanker, about 50 large size poly tanks stationed in some of the communities where women now resort for their water needs. This is in addition to the construction of about 20 mechanized boreholes in some selected communities.
Some of the beneficiaries in an interaction with THE CUSTODIAN underscored how her intervention has propelled them to save time for other domestic activities and their businesses.
The women could not hide their excitement and offered prayers for her, stating this is the kind of person we need in Savelugu as our MP.
