The Chief Executive Officer of GALACHIEF general construction and supplies company Ltd, Mr. Salifu Abdul Rashid, has renovated the physiotherapy unit at the Tamale Teaching Hospital. The gesture is in fulfillment of his corporate social responsibility after it emerged that the training gym at the premier healthcare facility was in disarray.
The philanthropist in an interaction with THE CUSTODIAN said the intervention became necessary after he visited the gym with his mother for training and realized the place was in a deplorable state.
“I took my mother to the physiotherapy center one day and saw that the place was not in good shape, so I thought it wise to do something to help improve the place. This is the little I can give back to the society because people go there for rehabilitation training and I cannot look on unconcerned” he stated.
The Businessman also disclosed his intention to organize some training equipment to complement the existing training tools at the gym.
“It is my intention to also organize some gym equipment for them because you will see that they also need them and I don’t mind to partner with likeminded individuals to get the needed equipment for the hospital” he emphasized.
Meanwhile, the Acting Head of the Physiotherapy Department, Mr. Mensah Yao Amedzo, has commended the businessman for running to the aid of the hospital.
He said the renovation works has significantly enhanced the gym’s appearance, creating a welcoming and therapeutic environment for patients.
“On behalf of the Physiotherapy Department at Tamale Teaching Hospital, I am writing to extend our sincere gratitude for your generous sponsorship of the gym’s painting. Your support has significantly enhanced the gym’s appearance, creating a welcoming and therapeutic environment for our patients.
“Your contribution is deeply valued and we hope to have the opportunity to collaborate with you again in the future” Mr. Yao said in a statement.
