The Minister of Finance who doubles as the Member of Parliament for Karaga, Dr Mohammed Amin Adam, has presented a total of sixty four (64) motorbikes, brand new Hilux Pick up vehicle to support the campaign operations of the New Patriotic Party in the Northern region ahead of this year’s general elections.
The donation covers the eighteen (18) constituency Organizers, Youth Organizers and Women Organizers with each person receiving a brand new motorcycle to facilitate their movement as the campaign gears up nationwide ahead of the presidential and parliamentary polls.
The Northern Regional Communications team received a 4×4 Hilux Pick up and ten motorcycles to assist their communication activities. The Karaga lawmaker also gave an undisclosed cash amount to the team.
These logistics are expected to propel the chances of the governing NPP in the northern region to win more parliamentary seats and more votes for the party’s presidential candidate, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
The NPP is working assiduously to take over the northern region which used to be a safe haven for the opposition National Democratic Congress.
The governing party has significantly increased their votes in the region and parliamentary seats in the past three consecutive national elections.
The party in the 2020 polls captured the Karaga and Mion constituencies for the very first time which over the years have been safe seats for the National Democratic Congress.
Both NPP and NDC have nine parliamentary seats apiece out of the eighteen (18) constituencies in the northern region.
