The Oti Regional Executive Elections Committee has announced the timetable for the vetting and balloting of candidates seeking various regional executive positions, as preparations for the party’s internal elections gather momentum.
In a statement signed by the Chairman of the Oti Regional Executive Elections Committee, George Krobea Asante, the committee expressed satisfaction with the cooperation and support received from candidates and stakeholders during the first phase of the election process.
According to the committee, all candidates will proceed to balloting immediately after completing their vetting and are expected to take note of the schedules and comply with all directives.
The committee further directed all aspirants to report with the original copies of their educational qualification certificates as stated in their nomination forms, proof of dues payment, receipts for the purchase of nomination forms, and their voter ID cards.
Candidates contesting for the positions of Regional Secretary, Regional Youth Organiser and Regional Communications Director have also been instructed to present their original birth certificates, Ghana Cards, and curriculum vitae during the vetting exercise.
The two-day vetting exercise will begin on Monday, July 20, 2026, with candidates contesting the positions of Regional Chairman, First Vice Chairman, Second Vice Chairman, Regional Secretary and Deputy Regional Secretary. A total of 18 candidates are expected to be vetted on the first day.
On Tuesday, July 21, 2026, the committee will vet aspirants for the positions of Regional Treasurer, Regional Organiser, Regional Women Organiser, Regional Youth Organiser, Regional Nasara Organiser and Regional Communications Director. Thirteen candidates are scheduled for vetting on the second day.
In all, 31 candidates will be vetted over the two days.
The exercise will take place at the Jolis Hotel Conference Room in Jasikan, with proceedings beginning at 8:30 a.m. and ending at 5:00 p.m. on both days.
The committee urged all candidates to arrive on time with the required documents to ensure a smooth and transparent process. It also wished every aspirant success as they seek election to lead the party in the Oti Region.
