Akofa Banson, StarTimes General Manager

Mrs. Akofa Banson has been named General Manager of StarTimes Ghana, according to StarTimes.

Mrs Akofa Banson is expected to lead the team in achieving specified objectives and driving new initiatives in Ghana, according to a statement from StarTimes.

She joined StarTimes as Head of Marketing in 2016 and retained that post until her promotion.

She is a seasoned media executive with a background in media marketing, advertising, content acquisition, and film production spanning over 20 years.

Akofa was designated one of Ghana’s 50 most prominent CMOs in 2019 and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing Ghana as an associate member.

She began her career with TV3 Network Ltd as a marketing officer in 1999. She eventually became the General Manager of Alpha Limousine, where she oversaw a 200 percent rise in revenue.

Mrs Banson came to StarTimes from African Broadcast Network, where she spent five years as marketing manager and four years as general manager.

Her position takes effect on April 1, 2022, succeeding Mr Felix Ahonzo, who is leaving StarTimes after five years as COO to pursue other interests.

The Executive Chairman, Mr. Techie, during a handing over ceremony on Thursday, said “We are extremely excited to have someone with her experience to lead our team on an exciting new growth path, we believe she will add significant value in achieving our vision and objectives.”
