Armed robbers have reportedly attacked traders on the Asempanye-Amankwa road in the Afram Plains North District.

Information reaching thecustodianghonline.com indicates gunshots were fired into four vehicles causing life-threatening injuries to some of the traders.

According to assemblyman for the area, Hon Yaw Vidjei, the incident occurred between 5:00pm and 6:00 pm when a trader was shot at the back of the head and was rushed to the Presbyterian Hospital at Donkorkrom in the Afram Plains North District.

He disclosed that the robbers, numbering about eight were all carrying guns and were determined to use them on their victims.

Another trader, in an interview with this portal, indicated that she called the police several times but the calls went unanswered.

According to her, she subsequently called the Police Commander to narrate the incident to him.

An eyewitness, however, indicated that before the police arrived on the scene the robbers had already bolted with their booty.
