Former Vice President of Ghana and a presidential aspirant of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, is expected to arrive in the North East Region (His home region) on Wednesday, December 10, as part of his nationwide campaign tour ahead of the January 31, 2026, presidential primaries of the party.
The tour is intended to deepen engagement with party structures and grassroots supporters across all six constituencies in the Region. While in the region, the former Vice President will interact with the electorate and share his vision with them.
The Custodian has sighted a letter signed by the Bawumia campaign manager, Frederick Opare Ansah, notifying the region about the impending itinerary of the former Vice President as directed by the party.
The notice ensures proper coordination of all activities in the various constituencies, facilitates security arrangements in collaboration with the appropriate Regional and Constituency security officers and confirms that the proposed tour schedule does not conflict with engagements or requests by other presidential aspirants.
The three-day tour will see Dr Bawumia visiting the Chereponi and Bunkpurugu constituencies on Wednesday before continuing on Thursday, December 11, to the Yunyoo, Nalerigu-Gambaga, and Walewale constituencies.
Dr Mahamudu Bawumia will proceed to the Upper East Region on Friday, December 14, and later travel to Yagaba/Kubore constituency on the same day to conclude his tour of the North East Region.
Meanwhile, the Northeast East Regional Secretary, Lawyer Sulley Sambian, has urged all party delegates to come out in their numbers to welcome Dr Bawumia and participate actively in all scheduled engagements.
”The New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the North East Region wishes to inform all delegates in the upcoming presidential primaries that Dr Mahamudu Bawumia will embark on a three-day campaign tour of the North-East Region from 10th to 11th December, and 14th December 2025″ he announced.
