School children in the Sagnarigu municipality in the Northern Region have been urged to take their studies seriously. The Municipal Chief Executive for Sagnarigu, Mr. Mohammed Ahmed Yakubu, in his remarks during the commemoration of Ghana’s 66th Independence Day parade today Monday (March 6, 2023) at the Tamale Senior High School Parson Square, said, “To my dear students, every day that passes brings you closer to taking responsibility for the country.”

Highlighting on the theme for this year’s celebration, “Our Unity, Our Strength, Our Purpose”, the Sagnarigu MCE added there are no short cuts to success and advised the teenagers to fully apply themselves to their books and training in school.

“Taking responsibility for your lives and that of others requires adequate preparation. You should prepare yourselves by taking your education and training very seriously. There are no short cuts to success” he said.

Hon Ahmed Yakubu parade to admonished the school children in the Greater Tamale area to avoid drug abuse, internet fraud, exams malpractice, gaming among all forms of social vices as it will only jeopardize their future.

“You will be jeopardizing your future if you choose to engage in them. The country’s future depends on you. No matter your background, you have an important role to play in shaping the country’s destiny. So stay focused and be disciplined in whatever you do” he emphasized.

Meanwhile, the Municipal Chief Executive has assured President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is working tirelessly to improve the present economic difficulties in the country.

“Ghanaians should therefore expect respite in the coming months. Already, the oil for gold scheme introduced by the government is bringing about reduction in fuel prices nationwide and the government will not relent in its efforts to bring total relief to Ghanaians” he assured.

Mr. Mohammed Ahmed Yakubu argues the current challenges we are facing are temporary challenges precipitated by global circumstances that are affecting countries worldwide.
