Constituency executives and delegates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Central Region have expressed strong support for Boakye Agyarko ahead of the party’s National Chairmanship election.
The delegates, who interacted with Agyarko during his engagement with party members in the region, said they were confident in his ability to help unite the party, strengthen its structures and improve its electoral fortunes.
They highlighted the need for the NPP to regain parliamentary seats it lost in the Central Region and restore its previous position of holding all 19 seats in the region.
The delegates also called for renewed efforts to improve the party’s performance in presidential elections, stressing the importance of effective grassroots mobilisation and stronger organisational structures.
Agyarko, in his engagement with the delegates, emphasised the need for genuine reconciliation and unity within the NPP.
He said rebuilding trust among party members would be critical to strengthening the party and preparing it for future electoral contests.
The former Energy Minister also outlined the need to retool and adequately resource constituency and regional party offices to improve their operations and strengthen grassroots engagement.
According to him, well-resourced party structures would enable executives to mobilise more effectively and maintain stronger connections with members and supporters at the grassroots.
Agyarko reiterated his commitment to building a united and stronger NPP, with functional structures capable of responding to the needs of its members and supporters.
He said the party must work collectively to rebuild its presence across the Central Region and reclaim parliamentary seats lost in previous elections.
The engagement forms part of Agyarko’s wider campaign ahead of the NPP’s National Chairmanship election.
The delegates’ endorsement adds to his campaign activities as he seeks to secure the position and lead efforts to reorganise the party at both the regional and constituency levels.
