The Member of Parliament (MP) for Afigya Kwabre North, Mr Collins Adomako Mensah, has urged the New Patriotic Party(NPP) delegates in Ashanti Region to vote for Chairman Odeneho Kwaku Appiah (COKA) as Regional Chairman, describing him as the party’s best bet to drive growth in the region.
The MP, while addressing delegates in his constituency, endorsed Asanteman COKA’s candidature, saying, “At this particular point in time, our best bet is Odeneho Kwaku Appiah,” adding that “if you have someone who is very committed in politics, you should thank God.”
The MP recounted a time during the NPP administration when MPs of the party visited President Nana Akufo-Addo at the Jubilee House.
According to him, when Nana Akufo-Addo entered the room they were in, they felt chills in their body.
“I said it the last time that there is a spirit behind the party. When we as MPs visited Nana Addo at the Jubilee House, something always hit us when he walked into the room. You could feel it in you that something is happening,” the MP recounted.
He added, “There is a spirit in leadership. That NPP spirit, especially in the Ashanti Region, is now with COKA.”
“Odeneho has served the NPP in the region well. The delegates must reward service. He has shown a clear vision to revive the party in the region, and we cannot afford to disappoint him.”
According to him, COKA is far ahead among the rest in the chairmanship race.
“He is gone; nobody chased him,” he said.
Mr. Adomako Mensah’s endorsement adds to a growing list of party figures who have thrown their weight behind Asanteman COKA’s bid for the region’s top party office.
The Member of Parliament for Afigya Kwabre South, Damata Ama Appianimaa Salam, has also endorsed COKA, telling constituency executives during his “Hope Tour” stop in Bekwai.
“COKA identified my potential and guided me to become who I am today,” he recounted, pledging to mobilise a near-unanimous vote for Odeneho Kwaku Appiah.
Mr. Collins Adomako Mensah urged delegates to vote for COKA on August 15, 2026, saying the leadership spirit in him can only be materialised when they give him the nod. “Let’s make it possible for COKA,” he added.
