Police in Tamale have arrested Iddrisu Hardi Pagazaa, the former Deputy Northern Regional Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress and his accomplice, identified as Mumuni Osman over the attack of a journalist at Dagbon FM last week.
The duo raided the studios of the radio station and allegedly attacked the presenter, Sadiq Abubakari Gariba, during a live radio program. The incident coincided with this year’s International Press Freedom Day.
The two were captured in a video shared on social media where the presenter was heckled and life-threatening words used on him.
The media practitioner in an earlier interview told THE CUSTODIAN he only criticized the latter for engaging in Abudu and Andani chieftaincy politics on a campaign trail.
Meanwhile, the police in a statement issued on Monday said the suspects would be arraigned before court soon.
