The Tamale Teaching Hospital (TTH) Medical Ward has taken delivery of medical equipment from Darul Tawheed Institute of Ghana to equip and strengthen the capacity of the major referral hospital deliver quality healthcare to the general public in the north.

The nonprofit making organization presented gun thermometers, digital BP apparatus and two hundred pieces of face towel.

The group also received items such as bed sheets, sanitizers, adult diapers, tea, toilet rolls and several bags of sachet water to the facility.

Executive Director of the Institute, Doctuur Abu Dujana Ibn Bayaan, at a short handing over ceremony last Friday (July 10, 2022) said the donation was in fulfillment of the teachings of the Holy Quran and Hadith (Teachings) of Prophet Muhammed – SAWW as Muslims are enjoined to be generous, caring, promote love and peace for the development and wellbeing of all in society.  

“In Quran chapter 28 verse 77, Allah says: Seek through that which Allah has given you, the home of the hereafter; and do not forget your share of the world. And do good as Allah has done good to you and desire not corruption in the land. Indeed, Allah does not like corrupters” he preached.

He noted therefore that, “The Management of Darul Tawheed Institute Ghana sees it necessary to go beyond the mere preaching to putting into action the command of Allah and His Messenger (Sualla llaahu alayhi wa sallam)”.

Doctuur Abu Dujana added, Quran chapter 2 verse 195 preaches, “And spend in the way of Allah and do not throw [yourself] with your [own] hands into destruction [by refraining].     

The Islamic Scholar used the occasion to encourage other nongovernmental groups and development partners to support health facilities to achieve universal health coverage quoting from the Hadith that “Whoever brings ease to the one who is in difficulty, Allah will bring him ease in this World and in the Hereafter”.

Meanwhile, Dr Akeulpwa Valentine, Head of Accident and Emergency Department, upon receiving the items on behalf of management of the Tamale Teaching Hospital thanked the organization for deeming it necessary to support the Medical Ward and entreat the pubic to join hands with this effort.

“It gladdens my heart that I see an organization to put effort together to try and come and support us, this is what we want to see more and more, these are the things we expect the community to come to do from time to time”.

He assured that the items would be used judiciously and for the purpose of which it has been provided to the facility. 

“We want to assure you that, these items will use for the purpose in which they were brought here, we will guld them and make sure that the people who really need them will get them and that nobody is going to get away with them for a their own personal use”.
