The Business Development Minister, Dr Ibrahim Awal in an interview with Journalists urged the youth in the northern region to always preach peace and give Ya Naa their support and cooperation to strengthen the existing peace in the area.

He emphasized that the Damba festival is an occasion to bring more peace and unity in the area. He maintained that without peace there cannot be development in the region, adding that, “Dagbon has lagged behind because of chieftaincy problems in the past.”

Violent free election

Dr Awal advised the Ghanaian Youth especially in the north not to allow self-seeking politicians to use them to foment mayhem in the run up to the 2020 general election.

He noted the election would not be about Abudu and Andani but about the development of the country.

“We want development in Dagbon, we’ve lagged behind too much and we cannot afford to go about fighting again. So, the youth, women and everybody should come together because President Nana Akufo-Addo has resolved the broken peace in Dagbon and what we have to do to honor our President is to maintain the peace he has brought to us”

Dr Awal implored the Chiefs and people in the area to rally behind the Ya Naa so that Dagbon can see the needed development.

Meanwhile, spokesperson of the Overlord in a brief media interaction highly commended Dr Ibrahim Awal and the government of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for the endless support to the Gbewa palace and called on other well-meaning Dagombas to emulate the exemplary life and leadership of the Business Development Minister.
