The Yendi MP, Farouk Aliu Mahama, with Yendi MCE handing the items to management of Yendi Hospital

The Yendi Member of Parliament, Alhaji Farouk Aliu Mahama, has handed over medical equipment to management of the Yendi governmental hospital.

The items included 50 Blood Pressure Monitoring machines, 30 Glucose Monitoring equipment, 20 street lightening bulbs.

The equipment are expected to enable the efficient and effective delivery of healthcare services to the people of Yendi and the neighboring communities who attend to the facility.

Mr. Farouk made the donation during a short ceremony to commission an ultramodern Emergency and Trauma Centre at the Yendi municipal hospital. He further gave the hospital’s management a cash amount of GH₵10,000 for the running of the facility.

The lawmaker in his remarks outlined the health sector as one of his utmost priorities and affirmed his resolve to provide the necessary support to promote quality health care services in the constituency.

Highlighting on the Emergency and Trauma Centre project, Alhaji Farouk Mahama stated the intervention was in line with his New Yendi City vision to aggressively transform the Yendi Constituency to a modern city status that provides progress and development for all.

“Upon the advent of my mandate as Member of Parliament for Yendi Constituency, we set out to reconstruct and build towards a vision dubbed- the New Yendi City. This informed my singular effort to revive, refurbish and re-equip the Yendi hospital Mortuary after the unit broke down for about two decades.”

The MP added, “When I also had a wind of the need for a new Emergency and Trauma Centre, I immediately got on board and today I am excited about the product of our collective effort. I am overwhelmed by what a community can achieve together if her citizens are united.”

He therefore commended the Global Missions and Resources Centre, Mission 318 and all stakeholders for their invaluable support to improve quality of service delivery especially to the poor and vulnerable in society.

“It is our sincere hope that this relationship and collaboration between your organizations and the people of Yendi will continue to grow from strength to strength for the benefit of our people” he prayed.

Meanwhile, the Medical Superintendent of the hospital, Dr Ayuba Abdulai, applauded the Yendi legislator for the singular gesture and assured the resources will be put to good use.
