The GCB Bank liberty house branch in Accra Central Business District was gutted by fire Saturday morning.
Personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service believed the fire started around 11 am.
However, some eyewitnesses disputed the reports by the Fire Service, claiming the fire started hours earlier.
Fire Service personnel were on the scene for about 45 minutes and were yet to ascertain the cause of the fire on the first floor of the seven-story building.
They indicated that the affected floor contained stationery there were no reports of any casualties.
About six fire trucks were dispatched to the scene and fire service personnel were able to keep the fire from spreading. The Police also barricaded some roads leading to the area causing heavy traffic.
