In a significant development, the Ghana Education Service (GES) has officially unveiled the 2023 Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) results, determining the fate of thousands of Senior High School and Technical and Vocational Education and Training School (TVET) hopefuls.

According to information disclosed in a press release by Cassandra Twum Ampofo, the Head of Public Relations at GES, out of the 598,839 results received from the West African Examination Council (WAEC), an impressive 585,797 candidates successfully qualified for placement.

Remarkably, 81.56% of the qualifying candidates, totaling 477,772 students, have been automatically placed in one of their preferred choices.

This figure represents a notable improvement from the previous year, with over 100,000 more students securing placements through the automated system.

However, the release highlighted that 18.44% of qualified candidates, numbering 108,025, could not be matched with any of their selected choices. These students are urged to engage in self-placement to choose from available schools.

To initiate the self-placement process, candidates are required to obtain a placement pin code from an approved vendor and follow the instructions on the official CSSPS website (www.cssps.gov.gh).

The release emphasized that the self-placement portal allows students to change their selected schools multiple times until they enroll in a school.

It also stressed that schools with available vacancies have been uploaded to the portal for students to choose from seamlessly.

Importantly, the GES statement cautioned parents and guardians against paying money to individuals promising to facilitate school changes, reiterating that the placement process is entirely merit-based.

As the next step in the education journey of these students, heads of institutions are set to commence registration and orientation activities from December 4, 2023.

The GES also provided information on support channels for concerned individuals, including the National Solution Centre at the GNAT Hall in Adabraka and regional solution centers at various Regional Education Offices. Additionally, a helpline (0308258001) has been established to address any concerns from the public.

The GES is optimistic that the smooth rollout of the CSSPS results will pave the way for a successful academic year, reinforcing the commitment to providing quality education opportunities for Ghanaian students.
