Legendary Ghanaian rapper, Michael Owusu Addo, who is professionally known as Sarkodie has spoken concerning the current fuel prices in the country.

The BET International Rapper award winner is in the UK for his projects. Yet the somewhat controversial rapper has added his voice to the ‘struggles’ of many Ghanaians.

The rapper has been tagged as a ‘hypocrite’ by many for his silence on the hardship Ghanaians are facing under the current government. Sarkodie is well know for releasing songs that addresses social/political issues but that has not been the case under this government. Yet he has shared his thoughts, sparingly, on certain issues and most of the social songs he released under the Mahama administration are yet relevant today more than ever.

The Ghanaian celebrity tweeted on his Twitter handle: “Staying indoor when I touch down Gh… Zoom calls only … #FuelPrices”

Sarkodie tweeted today.

Just today COPEC has released a statement to indicate that fuel prices will cross over 10Ghc per litre by tomorrow and this means a gallon of fuel will hit 46Gh. This would not be good news for anyone regardless of what social, political, and religious stance one holds.

Even with this statement some fans think it is not enough and that he must go beyond normal tweets and take other serious actions.
