The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced its final 26-man squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be staged in the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
Released on Monday, the squad features several key players, including captain Jordan Ayew, Thomas Partey, Inaki Williams, Kamaldeen Sulemana, and Antoine Semenyo.
The team comprises three goalkeepers, nine defenders, six midfielders, and eight forwards, reflecting a balanced selection as Ghana prepares for the global tournament.
In goal, Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Benjamin Asare earns a call-up after an impressive run in the Ghana Premier League. He is joined by Lawrence Ati-Zigi of Swiss club St. Gallen and Joseph Anang of St. Patrick’s Athletic.
Asare’s inclusion is expected to excite local supporters, as he remains one of the few home-based players in the squad.
Defensively, the Black Stars blend experience and youth, with Baba Rahman, Gideon Mensah, and Alidu Seidu among the leading options. They are supported by Marvin Senaya, Abdul Mumin, Jerome Opoku, Jonas Adjetey, Kojo Oppong Peprah, and Derrick Luckassen.
In midfield, Thomas Partey anchors the unit and is expected to play a pivotal role in dictating play. He is joined by Elisha Owusu, Kwasi Sibo, Augustine Boakye, Caleb Yirenkyi, and Abdul Fatawu Issahaku.
The attacking department is led by Inaki Williams, Jordan Ayew, Antoine Semenyo, and Kamaldeen Sulemana, with additional firepower from Christopher Bonsu Baah, Ernest Nuamah, Brandon Thomas-Asante, and Prince Kwabena Adu.
