The Embassy of Ghana in Doha has issued an urgent security advisory, calling on all Ghanaians living in Qatar to take immediate shelter following a missile attack in the region.
The alert, released on February 28, 2026, comes amid heightened tensions and concerns for civilian safety.
In the official statement, the Embassy highlighted the impact of the missile attack in Doha as the primary reason for the advisory.
Citizens were strongly advised to rely solely on official sources for updates, avoiding rumours or unverified information that could cause confusion or panic.
“Due to missile attack and its impact in Doha, please take shelter until further notice, obtain information from official sources,” the notice stated.
The Embassy also provided guidance on safety measures for residents. Ghanaians were urged to stay indoors as much as possible, avoid military and sensitive sites, steer clear of crowded areas, and minimise exposure to potential danger. These precautions aim to reduce the risk of injury or harm during the ongoing security situation.
Additionally, the Embassy emphasised the importance of preparedness. Citizens were advised to have essential supplies on hand, including food, water, and necessary medications, to ensure they can sustain themselves while sheltering.
The Embassy encouraged Ghanaians to remain calm, stay connected with family and local contacts, and report any emergencies to the appropriate authorities.
This advisory serves as a reminder of the volatile situation in the region and the need for vigilance among residents.
The Embassy continues to monitor developments closely and promised to provide further updates as the situation evolves. Ghanaians in Doha are urged to adhere strictly to the guidance provided and prioritise their safety until further notice.
