The 2026/27 Ghana Premier League delivered another exciting Matchday Four, with Medeama SC, Aduana FC and newly promoted Port City among the standout winners.
Heart of Lions also staged a dramatic late comeback, while several other teams settled for draws.
Medeama 4-1 Basake Holy Stars
Medeama SC secured their first league victory of the season with an emphatic 4-1 comeback win over Basake Holy Stars in the Western derby.
Patrick Ocran gave Basake the lead in the 14th minute, but Medeama quickly turned the game around.
Prince Owusu restored parity in the 26th minute before Emmanuel Annor put Medeama ahead just a minute later. Kelvin Nkrumah added a third in the 30th minute, while Kingsley Braye completed a dominant first-half display.
The convincing victory provides a major boost for the Mauve and Yellows after their difficult start to the campaign.
Asante Kotoko 0-2 Aduana FC
Aduana FC recorded one of the weekend’s biggest victories after beating Asante Kotoko 2-0 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, despite playing more than 50 minutes with 10 men.
Stephen Amankona opened the scoring in the seventh minute before Raymond Agyemang was sent off late in the first half.
Aduana remained organised and dangerous despite their numerical disadvantage and sealed the victory late in the match when Seidu Saana finished a counter-attack.
The defeat handed Kotoko their first loss of the season, while Aduana moved to seven points from four matches.
Bibiani Gold Stars 0-2 Port City
Newly promoted Port City continued their impressive start to life in the top flight with a 2-0 victory over Bibiani Gold Stars at Dun’s Park.
Emmanuel Intori opened the scoring after eight minutes with a fine chip before Robert Gyamfi doubled Port City’s advantage in the 20th minute.
Gold Stars improved after the break but were unable to break down a well-organised Port City defence.
The victory moved Port City into third place, while Gold Stars slipped into the bottom three.
Berekum Chelsea 1-1 Vision FC
Vision FC scored late to earn a 1-1 draw against Berekum Chelsea at Golden City Park.
Abubakari Seidu put Chelsea ahead in the 58th minute, but Ruben Quaye equalised in the first minute of added time.
The result extended Vision’s unbeaten run to three matches, while Chelsea were left frustrated after conceding a late equaliser.
FC Ashantigold 2-1 Debibi United
FC Ashantigold returned to winning ways with a 2-1 victory over Debibi United at the Len Clay Stadium.
Abdul Samed Yakubu put Ashantigold ahead in the 38th minute before Clement Nketiah restored parity for Debibi just before half-time.
Frederick Twumasi restored Ashantigold’s lead in the 65th minute to secure all three points for the Miners.
Young Apostles 1-2 Heart of Lions
Heart of Lions staged a dramatic late comeback to beat Young Apostles 2-1 at the Nana Abrefa Nketia VII Stadium.
Samuel Prempeh gave Apostles an early lead after just four minutes, but Francis Odoom equalised from the penalty spot in the 55th minute.
Heart of Lions were reduced to 10 men after Abdul Jalilu was sent off in the 65th minute, but they continued to push for a winner.
Mustapha Yakubu eventually scored in the 95th minute to complete the comeback and hand Lions their first victory of the season.
Bechem United 1-0 Dreams FC
Bechem United edged Dreams FC 1-0 at home, with Derrick Atta Afriyie’s early header proving decisive.
The Hunters took the lead in the fourth minute after Augustine Okrah delivered a dangerous free-kick.
Bechem defended resolutely to protect their advantage despite sustained pressure from Dreams.
The victory gave Bechem their second win of the season, while Dreams remained without a victory after four matches.
Swedru All Blacks 1-1 FC Samartex 1996
Swedru All Blacks and FC Samartex 1996 shared the points in a 1-1 draw at the Swedru Sports Stadium.
Mohammed Musah Salifu gave the Black Magicians the lead in the 10th minute, but Kweku Owusu equalised for Samartex in the 53rd minute.
Both sides pushed for a winning goal but ultimately had to settle for a point.
