A group calling itself, the Concerned Active Citizens Group (CACG) calls for investigations into the cost of upgrade and rehabilitation of the first phase of the Greater Accra Regional Hospital project which the National Democratic Congress (NDC) touts as one of its legacy projects.

The group claims to possess multiple documents indicting then Executive Management of the hospital who engaged in dubious procurement deals during the construction period.

The group in a statement alleges that some top senior management of the hospital at the time of construction in a well-orchestrated style bloated the project budget to enrich themselves, through which a house was built for one of the senior medical officers at Nsawam.

The group threatens to name and shame the alleged fraudsters (senior medical officers) who directly benefitted from the bloated project cost if the law enforcement agencies fail to crack the whip.

The Upgrade and Rehabilitation of then Ridge Hospital was funded by HSBC Bank; Exim Bank of USA and constructed by Bouygues Batiment International at a total cost US$250,000,000.00. Construction activities at the site commenced on 15th April, 2014.
