A group of Ghanaians is set to hold a protest on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, demanding the removal of Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng, whom they accuse of failing to effectively carry out his mandate.
Speaking on Monday, November 24, the Lead Convener of the demonstration, Apostle Abraham Larbi Lincoln, said the group believes President John Dramani Mahama should revoke the Special Prosecutor’s appointment.
He explained that the protest, themed “Agro Ne Fom,” is intended to draw attention to what the group views as inefficiency within the Office of the Special Prosecutor.
“We will be in our reds, and we will be there to present our case. If he doesn’t listen, then we know the kind of person he is. We are marching straight to the Jubilee House, and we will petition the President,” he said.
Apostle Lincoln stressed that the group has no personal animosity toward Mr. Agyebeng but wants the office either restructured or completely dissolved, with all staff relieved of their duties.
In a related development, private legal practitioner Martin Kpebu has revealed that 15 different petitions have been filed calling for the Special Prosecutor’s removal, indicating growing public concern.
“As we speak now, there are 15 petitions to remove Kissi Agyebeng. When was the last time you heard of other persons subject to Article 146 proceedings ever having 15 petitions filed against them? That tells you that there is something wrong,” Mr. Kpebu stated.
The demonstration will conclude with the presentation of a formal petition to President Mahama at the Jubilee House.
