The Member of Parliament for Gushegu constituency in the Northern Region, Lawyer Alhassan Sulemana Tampuli, continues to empower underprivileged families with his educational support initiative.
The New Patriotic Party two-term lawmaker on Thursday, September 3, 2026, brought smiles to about 232 brilliant but needy students offering various professional courses in the University and other tertiary institutions across the country.
For 2026, the MP has disbursed a total amount of Three hundred thousand and twenty thousand cedis (GHS320, 000) to cover the tuition fees and other financial expenses of the students.
In his remarks, the Deputy Ranking Member for the Constitutional and Legal Affairs Committee of Parliament commended the diligent work done by the selection committee.

He however disclosed that a website will be create where prospective applicants will submit their applications for consideration moving forward.
“There will be a change in the application process by next year. We’re going to design an App where [everyone] will submit their applications and every information required would be provided through the App.
“And the Hassan Tampuli educational support committee will then scrutinize all applicants eligible to receive the support” he stated.
The Legislator further urged the students to take their studies seriously, assuring them that he will continue to offer the needed support devoid of people’s ethnic, religious or political persuasions.
The MP shared his personal educational journey growing up and how some of his teachers helped to propel his academic performance to inspire the students.
He therefore admonished them to emulate good examples of their peers and desist from the practices that will undermine their education.
“You go to school alone and when others are doing unacceptable things, remember where you’re coming from.
“Don’t take hard drugs or smoke wee which will not propel your growth. Always remember whether your conduct will help you to grow or not; whether your parents will be pleased with your actions or not” he added.
