The Pilgrims Affairs Office of Ghana has announced the flight schedules for pilgrims expected to perform this year’s Hajj in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The inaugural flight is scheduled to take off from the Tamale International Airport on Friday, May 1, 2026, as it is has been the routine practice for some time now.
According to the itinerary released by the Hajj Board, nine flights are expected to travel from the Northern Regional capital, Tamale, between Friday, May 1 and Saturday, May 9, 2026.
Each flight is expected to carry about Three hundred and Forty-five (345) passengers daily to Jeddah totaling about 3,105 pilgrims.
The Government had earlier announced that some Five thousand (5000) Ghanaians are expected to leave the country for the pilgrimage to perform the month-long annual sacred Islamic rituals in the middle East.
According to the Ghana Hajj Board, a total of 18 flights have been booked to fly the Ghanaian contingent.
Meanwhile, an 11-member advance team comprising two doctors, two senior nurses, additional medical staff, and key members of the Hajj operation’s unit were dispatched last week to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia ahead of the arrivals and effective management the exercise.
In addition, the team will ensure that all electronic systems are fully operational, food catering services meet required standards and specifications and medical support systems are adequately prepared to guarantee a smooth and safe pilgrimage exercise.
