The Inspector General of Police, Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has deployed a Special Team of Investigators, Intelligence Officers and a Crime Scene Team to assist the Northern Regional Police Command with investigations into the death of two female foreigners in Tamale.
Bodies of the ladies were reportedly found in a room at Cab Hospitality Hotel, located at Gbewa Residential Area, a suburb of the Tamale Metropolis on Monday, August 3, 2026.
Following a report from the hotel management, Police proceeded to the scene where the bodies of the two deceased believed to be Benin nationals were found.
The bodies were subsequently conveyed to the Tamale Teaching Hospital Mortuary for preservation and a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
DCOP Mr. Wisdom Lavoe, the Northern Regional Police Commander in a statement dated August 4, said preliminary investigations have commenced to establish the circumstances surrounding the deaths and identification of the deceased persons.
He added that Police is also working assiduously with relevant authorities to facilitate contact with their families.
”The Command urges any member of the public with credible information on the incident to call the Police Emergency Numbers, 191/18555 or report to the nearest Police Station” he stated.
