Some concerned residents of Gomoa Budumburam and its surrounding areas have called on the Inspector General of Police (IG), Dr. George Akuffo Dampare to investigate the Gomoa Budumburam Police in order to fish out the bad nuts among the Police officers there and discipline them accordingly to do professional job.

The concerned residents also called on the IGP to investigate activities of land guards at the Liberia Camp to totally stop their nefarious activities to enable citizens, developers and residents to have their peace.

A spokesperson for the concerned residents, Maame Monica Agyepongmaa alias Wobedime, stated this at a Press Briefing at Gomoa Budumburam of the Gomoa East District in the Central Region recently.

Maame Agyeponmaa noted that some alleged notorious boys were being backed by some Peace Officers to encroach on a legally acquired land of one Mr. Moses Kudadze, a Tipper Truck Driver at Liberia Camp, who has put up a building on a portion of his land situated along Liberia Camp Lingozine road which he had bought from the Chiefs long ago.
The said boys are forcefully putting up a building directly right on Moses land in front of his house thereby preventing the owner easy access to his house.
According to Maame Wobedime, the matter was reported to the Millennium City Police at Gomoa Nyanyano long ago but nothing has been done about it up till now.
She said all efforts at stopping the said boys from encroaching the piece of land of Moses have proved futile.
Maame Wobedime pointed out that just recently some land guards wielding cutlasses from Liberia Camp led by one Abass went to the house of Moses at dawn to threaten him and his family that if they do not take time they would harm them.
She therefore called on the IGP and the President Nana Akuffo Addo himself to stop the land guards who are still operating in the area from harassing law abiding citizens who have toiled to buy their lands with hard cash, to put up buildings on them in Liberia Camp and its surrounding areas.
Maame Woberdime said it is very urgent for the authorities to intervene quickly to avoid bloodshed in the area.
She also called on the respected Chiefs of Gomoa East to rise up as early as possible to also put activities of land guards to an end so that the people would have their peace of mind to develop their legally acquired lands .
Maame Woberdime continued that they have alerted the Gomoa East District Assembly about the issue and they promised to call both sides to amicably resolve the matter but unfortunately they could not do anything about it up till now. She also said one of their Queemothers promised to call both sides to get the matter resolved soon.
Maame Woberdime noted that it is prudent for the boys to be stopped because if the owner of the facility also decides to recruit buys from Nima to counter the boys who are disturbing him, it would only lead to bloodshed.
On his part, Moses Kudadze himself, told the Press in an interview, that, it was the same boys who are now encroaching on his land that provided him with the site plan and map of the land so it is strange that they are now turning round to struggle with him on his own land today.
He mentioned one Abass, Scorpion, and others as persons who allegedly came to his house at Liberia Camp at dawn and threatened to kill him recently.
He appealed to the IGP to personally cause the investigation of land guards and Policemen at the Liberia Camp to fish out non- Professional ones among them for them to be severely punished and to instill discipline in the Service out there at the Liberia Camp.
