The Member of Parliament for Juaben in the Ashanti Region, Mr. Francis Owusu-Akyaw, has donated 50 bags of cement, 20 packets of roofing sheets, and GH¢10,000 to support victims of a recent rainstorm at Adumasa, a farming community in the Municipality.

The storm, which hit the community earlier this week, ripped off the roofs of 26 houses, leaving several residents displaced.

Moved by the plight of the affected individuals, the MP visited the community to offer assistance and assure them of his continuous support.

Speaking during the donation on Friday, Mr. Owusu-Akyaw emphasized his commitment to standing by his constituents in difficult times.

“It is heart-breaking to see families lose their homes and belongings due to this disaster. As your MP, I want you to know that you are not alone. We will work together to restore what has been lost,” he assured.

He also urged residents to prioritize stronger building structures to withstand extreme weather conditions and pledged to engage relevant authorities to provide further assistance.

The affected residents, who received the donation, expressed their appreciation for the MP’s swift intervention. A local farmer who only gave his name as Osei, shared his relief.

“I lost my entire roof to the storm, and I didn’t know how I was going to rebuild. This support means a lot to us. We are grateful to our MP for coming to our aid so quickly.”

“We have seen MPs come and go, but Hon. Owusu-Akyaw has truly shown that he cares about us. This donation will help many of us get back on our feet”, said another victim who also commended the MP for his generosity.

The community leaders also thanked the MP and called on the government and other benevolent individuals to extend further support to the affected families.
