A man believed to be a soldier has died after he crashed into a breakdown truck on the Tamale – Kamina highway Friday dawn, 1 October, 2021.
The remains had been conveyed by personnel of the Ghana Police Service as at the time THE CUSTODIAN visited the scene, closer to the former Tamale Metropolitan Assembly at Gumani.
According to eyewitness account, the body was damaged badly and could not be identified.
THE CUSTODIAN has learnt even his mobile phone and other personal belongings got burnt.
However, one of the eyewitnesses who happened to arrive at the scene almost at the time when the accident happened said the deceased who appeared to be a military officer was riding towards the Central Business Area of the Tamale Metropolis.
The motorcycle of the deceased was burnt completely and the double tyres on the left side of the truck got destroyed as well.
The eyewitness said the damaged tyres caught fire during the collusion.
THE CUSTODIAN gathered that the police have retrieved a Bank Card from the scene to assist in their investigations to establish the identity of the deceased.
Several bags of grains and cereals were parked in the truck and information indicates the vehicle visited the Galwei market in the Gushegu municipality of the northern region.
