The Managing Director of Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB Bank) PLC, Farihan Alhassan, has eulogized the late Adam Ibrahim, former Minister for Food and Agriculture under the Jerry John Rawlings administration.
Mr. Adam Ibrahim reportedly passed away over the past weekend and has since been buried in line with the Islamic tradition.
The 3rd day Islamic funeral (Adua) took place on Tamale today Tuesday where family members, members of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) among dozens of mourners gathered to pray for the deceased.
Among the mourners was the GCB Bank boss who described the then Choggu/Tishegu Constituency Member of Parliament as a distinguished public servant.
He stated the contributions of the latter to agriculture, leadership and national development leave a lasting legacy.
”I had the solemn privilege of signing the Book of Condolence in memory of the late Hon. Ibrahim Adam, former Minister for Food and Agriculture.
”Ghana has lost a distinguished public servant whose contributions to agriculture, leadership and national development leave a lasting legacy” he wrote on social media.
Mr. Farihan further extended his deepest sympathies to the bereaved family, loved ones and all who mourn the passing of the statesman, praying for his soul to rest peacefully.
”May Allah grant him mercy and receive him into Jannah. Ameen” he prayed.
Meanwhile, The Custodian Online has gathered that the final funeral is scheduled for Sunday, September 6, 2026, in Tamale.
Born in 1950, Ibrahim Adam was a Ghanaian politician and Animal Scientist. He was elected into the 2nd Parliament of Ghana to represent the people of Choggu/Tishigu constituency in the Northern Region between January 1997 and January 2001.
