The Member of Parliament for Akuapem South, Mr O.B. Amoah has been endorsed by majority of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) delegates to represent the constituency in the next parliament.

He obtained 266 of the valid votes cast to defeat his loudest contender, Kwame Ofori-Gyau who garnered just 94 votes with the second challenger Eric Samuel Annor receiving 73 votes in last Saturday’s primaries.

The Akuapem South MP who is also a Deputy Minister for Local Government and Rural Development has represented the constituency in the Eastern Region since 2009 with exemplary performance on the floor parliament and in the governing NPP.

Meanwhile, the Minister for Local Government and Rural Development, and MP for Nalerigu/Gambaga, Hajia Alima Mahama also received overwhelming endorsement in her constituency.

She had a landslide victory, receiving 484 votes out of a total of 670 votes cast with her closest rival getting just 98.

MP for Tema West and Deputy Minister for Trade and Industry Kingsley Carlos Ahenkorah also received massive endorsement from party delegates.

He received 593 of the valid votes cast with his closest contender Kwasi Poku getting 177 votes.
