The Tamale South lawmaker and leader of the NDC side in Parliament, Haruna Iddrisu, joined his constituents at Kootingli, a farming community in his constituency to commemorate this year’s Christmas celebration on Saturday, December 25, 2021.
The Minority leader in an address on his own behalf as the people’s representative in Parliament and on behalf of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to the people of Ghana quoted John 3:16 in the Bible to give a prophetic meaning to the celebration.
John 3:16 reads: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
This, Mr. Haruna Iddrisu indicated he learnt whilst growing up attending a Presbyterian school, saying, “I am not sure I have forgotten what I learnt in school and I still remember that vividly growing up.”
However, the purpose of the aforementioned biblical quotation was not explicitly captured in his submission but he pointed out the needed for all to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ with commitment to live with the values of Christ.
