The outspoken Member of Parliament for Sagnarigu constituency in the Northern Region, Alhaji Alhassan Bashir Alhassan (A.B.A.) Fuseini, has attributed his defeat in the National Democratic Congress parliamentary primaries to the will of God.
“Everything that happens is the will of the almighty Allah. So, the day I was created, I was born, Allah had set the date for me, I am not somebody who goes into what destiny has decided, otherwise, there is a big story to tell.”
The MP who is widely known for his African proverbial theatricals in an interview monitored by THE CUSTODIAN on Accra based 3FM said, “and I can tell you that the walking stick is long but it has where you can hold it”, adding a “Bilchina” to wit a person with integrity does not tell his story at one stroke but you paraphrase them because there is a day for accountability.
Without any iota of doubt in his mind, the NDC lawmaker vehemently stated the people of Sagnarigu still appreciate and celebrate him in spite of his defeat to his main contender in the May 13 contest.
Asked why then was he kicked out in the elections, Alhaji A.B.A Fuseini insisted he is still well appreciated and celebrated widely by ordinary people in the Sagnarigu constituency though the NDC delegates failed to renew his mandate to represent the party in next year’s polls.
“I have never been kicked out. They did not endorse me for another term but I can tell you; and I wish one of these days, you will take your cameras and go into Sagnarigu and talk to the ordinary people on the ground. The delegates didn’t renew my mandate but I can tell you I am so well appreciated by the good people, even if for nothing, they have given three solid consecutives terms” he emphasized.
Meanwhile, Alhaji Fuseini obtained three hundred and thirty-three (333) votes against his main contender, Atta Issah, who had eight hundred and one votes (801).
