Alhaji Inusah Amadu popularly known as Dagomba Boy, aspiring to become the Northern Region Chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party, NPP, has called on the rank and file of the party to remain calm in the wake of steps taken by the government to select individuals for the Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executive positions in the region.
The call comes at the back of some NPP youth groups agitating against the current regional executives of the party and accusing them of undermining the ongoing vetting process and allegedly fixing names of their preferred candidates for appointments.
However, speaking in an interview with Tamale based North Television (NTV) monitored by THE CUSTODIAN; Dagomba Boy said the unity and cohesion within the party must be paramount to everybody in spite of the divergent views and interest.
He therefore urged the youth to accept the outcome of the process as the decision taken by the President and support whoever is appointed eventually so that the party will succeed to break the 8 agenda.
He indicated the far-reaching achievement and success story of the NPP couldn’t have been possible without the singular contribution of each member of the party, therefore, “We must not fight among us since our singular ambition is to break the 8 in 2024 to make history in the democratic dispensation of Ghana. Nobody will be appointed outside the party, so we must realize that we’re one party people; and one way or the other we’ve all contributed in various forms to help the party get victory.”
The former Yendi Constituency Chairman described himself as a grassroot person and charged appointees of the government and the yet to be appointed MMDCEs to work hand in hand with the party structures to provide the requisite support and job opportunities for the youth groups of the party.
