The Northern Regional Minister, Mr. Salifu Sa-eed has commended the Overlord of Dagbon, Ya Naa Abukari Mahama II for sustaining peace and co-existence among the people of Dagbon one year after his royal investiture as the King of the ancient tradition.

Mr. Sa-eed believes the sterling performance of the Ya Na’s stewardship has gain the admiration and confidence of the investor community in the country and abroad.

The Chairman of the Northern Regional Security Council (REGSEC) together with the National Security Minister, Mr. Albert Kan-Dapaah on Monday paid a working visit to the Gbewa palace to celebrate the Dagbon King.

The Ministers also visited the Mionlana, Naa Mahamadu Abdulai and Yoo Naa Abdulai Yakubu Andani at their separate jurisdictions.

Mr. Salifu Sa-eed in an exclusive interview with THE CUSTODIAN commended the immediate past regents of Dagbon for working together to sustain and deepen the peace in the area.

He added this has had a great impact on the country’s national security.

According to the regional minister, the co-existence and cooperation of the Chiefs have started attracting a lot of monumental infrastructural development and investment into Dagbon.

“…..which we are very happy with and we encourage them to do more so that the lost years of development in the Dagbon kingdom will be brought back and the gap will be filled in the shortest period” he noted.

For his part, Ndan Ya Naa Abukari Mahama thanked the ministers for the visit.

He also commended President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the NPP-led government for its continuous support in the development drive in the area.

The Chief stated the massive infrastructure development and growth in area is a testimony that, Dagbon is dear in the President’s heart, thereby, praying good health and long life for Nana Akufo-Addo and Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.

The Regional Minister indicated that REGSEC is far advanced in its work to curb any conflict in the matter. 

He noted that, the security will clampdown on any individual or interest group that will use the issue to foment mayhem in the region.

The minister said the northern region and for that matter, Dagbon and Nanung are not ready for any violent confrontations, stating further that, “The Chiefs and people of these areas are tired of conflict.”
