Head of the Department of Agricultural and Consumer Science Education at the University for Development Studies (UDS), Dr. Abdul Rahaman Karim Kpala, has declared his intention to run for the Northern Regional Secretary position of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) scheduled for 2026.
“I, Dr. Abdul Rahaman Karim Kpala, a proud son of the Northern Region, an academician, and a dedicated member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), hereby officially declare my intention to contest for the position of Northern Regional Secretary of our great Party” he announced in a press statement.
Throughout his academic journey, Dr Karim said he has committed himself to excellence, leadership, and service to the NPP, having previously served as TESCON Communication Coordinator, UDS chapter, which has enhanced his political communication skills and youth mobilization.
“Throughout my professional career, particularly as the current Head of the Department of Agricultural and Consumer Science Education at UDS, I have cultivated the values of discipline, organization, teamwork, and strategic thinking qualities essential for the efficient management and administration of our Party’s affairs.”
In his view, the Northern Region is strategically important to the fortunes of the NPP stating it is imperative for the party to strengthen its structures, deepen unity, enhance communication, and foster vibrant engagement with all stakeholders from the grassroots to the national leadership.
Being a member of the NPP Northern Regional Campaign Team for the 2024 general elections, a Regional Communications team member, and a TESCON Patron at UDS Nyankpala Campus, he is equipped with a deep understanding of grassroots mobilization, strategic communication, and the dynamics of political organization within the region.
“I am convinced that with my blend of academic discipline, political experience, organizational leadership, and deep-rooted connection with the people, I am well positioned to serve and deliver as the next Northern Regional Secretary of our Party” he stressed.
