The Northern Regional Minister, Alhaji Shani Alhassan Shaibu has labeled the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as a ‘Talk and Do’ President.
According to him, the President has the penchant of delivering on his promise made to Ghanaians.
After receiving first-hand briefing last Friday (26 March, 2021) about the ongoing phase two of the Tamale airport project together with the Minister for Transport, Mr. Shani said the progress of work is an eye-saw for everyone to see.
He noted it is heart fulfilling that the Tamale international airport was receiving a facelift under the administration of President Nana Akufo-Addo.
“When he came and met the phase one, he promised to improve on what he came to meet and this is an eye-saw, everyone sees that what he said is coming to pass, so I will describe my President as a ‘Talk and Do’ President”
Alhaji Shani Alhassan Shaibu believes the warehouses in the second phase project will also serve as storage facilities for vegetable farmers and crop farmers in the region anytime they intend to transport their produce to other areas and abroad.
He therefore commended President Nana Akufo-Addo and the New Patriotic Party led government for investing into the project.
Meanwhile, the sector Minister, Kwaku Ofori Asiamah, announced plans are underway for government to meet demands of the contractor to add phase 3 to the yet to be completed phase 2.
He explained it is financially reasonable, cost effective and profitable for government to construct phase 3 of the project concurrently with the ongoing second phase.
The third phase will bring additional facilities such as an airport citizen which will include hotels and others, more efficient fire station, warehouses and other adjoining amenities. The capacity of the main terminal will be extended as well in the phase 3.
