President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has cut the sod for the construction of Yendi dual carriage road as part of the eastern corridor project.

The Yendi dualization works form part of lot 5 of the eastern corridor stretch beginning from Oti/Damankong to the Yendi municipality.

The project covers a distance of about 170km, out which the contractor has completed 165.5km.

However, the outstanding 4.5km is the construction of 2.5km Yendi and 2km Bimbila inner city dual carriage roads.

President Akufo-Addo at the sod-cutting ceremony on Monday (August 8, 2022) said his government has already done 10km asphaltic overlays in the Yendi municipality.

“I came to Yendi today to do two things – one is to cut sod for the dualization of Yendi inner roads. Already 10km of Yendi roads has been asphalted and I want to assure the Ya Naa that, Nayilifong to Gukpegu road will be dualized. I also came to Yendi to inspect for myself the development of the Yendi Sports Stadium”.
