President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and his Vice Dr Mahamudu Bawumia are expected to begin a two-day working tour of the North East region from tomorrow.

The tour will be President Akufo-Addo’s first annual nationwide tour after his re-election as President of the country in the December 2020 general election.

He is expected to inspect some ongoing government projects in the region, which started during his first term in office and consequent to the creation of the region in 2019.

The governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) North East Regional Secretary, Lawyer Sule Sambian told THE CUSTODIAN that President Akufo-Addo and his vice would join the Overlord of Mamprugu, Naa Bohagu Abdulai Mahami Shariga in Nalerigu for a durbar of Chiefs.

According to him, the President will inspect some projects in the East and West Mamprusi municipalities for the first day of the visit.

He added that President Akufo-Addo will pay a courtesy call on the Chief of Yagaba and grace another durbar of Chiefs in the Mamprugu Moaduri district.

Thereafter, the President will also inspect the North East Region Department of Agriculture office project to conclude the tour of the region.

President Akufo-Addo until the outbreak of COVID-19 initiated the annual nationwide regional tours to interact with Chiefs and other stakeholders across the country.

He used the occasion to give account of his stewardship in the various regions.
