Dr Kwabena Duffuor, former Finance Minister seems to be causing fear and panic in NDC

A flagbearer aspirant of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Kwabena Duffuor is complaining of some discrepancies in the party’s voter register ahead of Saturday’s primaries.

Dr. Duffuor is calling on the National Executive of the party to postpone the upcoming presidential and parliamentary primaries scheduled for this weekend, May 13, 2023.

In a letter to the General Secretary of the NDC, Dr Duffuor’s campaign team says the call is based on the incomplete and inaccurate delegates register expected to be used for the elections.

The Head of research and strategy of the Duffuor campaign, Kofi Kukubor who authored the letter, says the postponement will give ample time for the register to be cleaned and an opportunity for a free and fair election.

The voters register which the campaign team of Dr. Duffuor described as ‘incomplete and inaccurate’ has a high potential of causing an irreparable damage to the chances of Dr. Duffuor.

“Upon initial review of the 220 constituencies Voters Register (Photo Album), we identified several discrepancies in the register that indicate it is both incomplete and inaccurate. Having an incomplete and inaccurate register is a significant issue when going into an election because it undermines the credibility and fairness of the election process.

“A comprehensive and accurate voter register is essential for ensuring that eligible voters are properly registered, and for preventing fraudulent activities such as multiple voting, impersonation and being refused a vote on the day of election. The incomplete and inaccurate Voters register has a high potential of deliberately causing an irreparable damage to the bright chances of Candidate Dr. Kwabena Duffuor-which we are unable to countenance. Considering the findings, Team Duffuor is demanding the following: Postponement of the May 13th Presidential primaries. Stakeholders meeting to establish an agreeable roadmap that will guarantee the integrity of the Voters Register”.
