The Northern Regional Director of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), Mr. Issahaque Abdul Latif, has reportedly died. The unfortunate incident according to information gathered by THE CUSTODIAN occurred on Monday (February 19, 2024) at the Tamale Teaching hospital (TTH) where he was receiving medical care.
The paper also learnt that the deceased was involved in an accident last Sunday, February 11, while taking his children to their Arabic school. He reportedly had multiple fractures on his leg, dislocation of the jaw among various degrees of injuries.
Multiple sources have confirmed to THE CUSTODIAN that the NHIA Northern Regional Director was responding positively to treatment and was due for surgery yesterday Monday.
However, the former New Patriotic Party (NPP) Northern Regional Director of Communications passed on in the process.
As a devoted Muslim, Mr. Abdul Latif was laid to rest yesterday, February 20, in line with the Islamic tradition.
Since the sad news broke out, mourners have taken to social media to messages and tributes eulogizing the deceased for living a remarkable life.
Meanwhile, both the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) have suspended political activities in the region to commiserate with the bereaved family.
