The North East Regional Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Lawyer Sule Sambian, has confirmed the completion of the validation exercise of the delegates earmarked to vote during the presidential primary of the party slated for January 31, 2025.
The validation process was supervised by the NPP’s Deputy General Secretary, Alhaji Haruna Mohammed.
The Secretary, in a statement posted on Facebook on Thursday (October 31, 2025), said the exercise, held across various constituencies, allowed representatives of all aspirants to confirm the names and details of delegates eligible to cast their votes.
”On the 28th October, 2025, the New Patriotic Party in the Northeast Region carried out an exercise to validate the delegates’ album to be used during the presidential primary fixed for the 31st of January 2026″ he stated.
Mr. Sambian emphasised that the process was very crucial to promoting transparency and fairness during next year’s election to select the party’s flagbearer for the 2028 general elections.
”This process is crucial in preventing disputes and guaranteeing fairness in what is expected to be one of the most important internal elections in the party’s recent history,” he stressed.
By validating the album early, Sule Sambian intimated that the NPP has once again demonstrated its commitment to transparency, unity, and accountability.
He added that it also sends a clear message that the party is determined to strengthen its internal democratic structures and maintain confidence among its members ahead of the 2026 presidential primary.
